Job overview: 

As a Backend Software Engineer at GoodHabitz, you’ll take ownership of developing and maintaining scalable backend services within a microservices architecture, ensuring the stability and performance of our applications. While your primary focus will be on the back-end, you’ll collaborate closely with the team to deliver the product end-to-end, adhering to best practices for API design, automated testing, and robust implementation. You'll be hands-on in driving our backend strategy, from architecture to execution, and fully engaged in achieving great results together. 

What You'll Do 🎯 :  

  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale distributed backend services using TypeScript/NodeJS.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, reliable, and scalable microservices. 
  • Be the quality guardian of the backend services by promoting best practices, addressing potential pitfalls, and using common design patterns for microservices. 
  • Work on API design following industry best practices, ensuring high-performance and low-latency systems. 
  • Write, maintain, and enhance automated tests to ensure quality in all development phases. 
  • Collaborate on the implementation of observability tools to monitor and maintain the health of backend services. 
  • Ensure backend systems are scalable, fault-tolerant, and performant in a cloud environment (e.g., Azure/GCP/AWS)  

What You’ll Bring to the Team:   

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in  TypeScript/NodeJS and preferably C#. 
  • Some frontend knowledge (Vue/React) is deeply appreciated. 
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture and the common patterns used in distributed systems. 
  • Experience in API design and best practices for building secure, performant, and maintainable APIs. 
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and practices. 
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Nice to Have Skills: 

  • Familiarity with NestJS Framework. 
  • Experience with monitoring tools (observability) to ensure backend service health. 
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, GitLab and AWS for managing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Team Player: Willing to collaborate and contribute to team success through active participation.
